The Horton Court Twister Champion Twist-off was held in Wales, I think it was won by Fiona but I can't remember. To the victor goes the respect and admiration of her peers.

Which one of these Davids is full of more hot air?
... It’s a pity he didn’t put more of them in the book. As it is, the few lines about attending Hurlstone Agricultural High School have the air of the detached outsider about them, and it was from that that I took my cue. The only other evoked situations in the book are a state occasion, the citizenship ceremony – and a grand final in a pub at Oxford, which captures the way in which nationalism is made externally and projected back, rather better than I could. It would certainly have been better than appeals to people to surrender their processes of rational reflection to the ‘ecstatic myth’ of Gallipoli.
